We’ll be on Dockside’s famous waterfront patio

Labour Day gives us one more  chance to grab as much’s summer sunshine as we can before Fall is upon us and, with that in mind, we’re going to be taking a whole new batch of BBQ items over to Dockside Restaurant for a BBQ on their spectacular waterfront patio from 12-5pm on Labour Day, Monday September 3rd.

When we were looking for inspiration for the BBQ, we looked into the history the Labour Day holiday and found out that it originated in Toronto in the late 1800s.  With the imminent arrival of our new Toronto-inspired Peameal Bacon sandwich, we thought we’d match it with other items which could be served proudly at one of the many Labour Day BBQs in the Big Smoke.

So, alongside the Peameal Bacon Sandwich, we’re going to be serving Jerk Chicken made with local Fraser Valley chicken and our housemade jerk rub and our delicious Chorizo Sausage made with local pork and our own mix of seasonings. The team at Dockside is going to be preparing a host of fresh, seasonal sides to accompany the BBQ and the whole works will only cost $18 per person for a heaping selection of BBQ and sides.

Summer long weekends and the BBQ are a perfect match and on BC Day, Monday, August 6th Big Lou’s Butcher Shop is excited to make a guest appearance to cook up some of our great BBQ on the famous patio at Dockside Restaurant.

 

Our team will be cooking up and serving their grill classics to enjoy  on Dockside’s patio from 12-5pm on BC Day. This is the first time that we have  offered our BBQ to the public outside of our shop. It’s a great chance to enjoy our BBQ in one of Vancouver’s most spectacular settings.

 

Working closely with Dockside Chef Simon McNeil, we’ve created a menu which incorporates Dockside’s signature beers into the recipes. Along with classic beer-braised beef ribs and Old Bridge Dark Lager BBQ Pulled Pork, we’re going to be serving a unique Sloping Hills Pork and Shrimp Sausage made with Dockside’s hibiscus-infused Jamaican Lager and served with a housemade Hibiscus brown mustard. The cost is just $18 per person for a heaping plate of BBQ and sides and, of course, the BBQ goes perfectly with one of Dockside’s fresh in-house brewed signature beers.
